ResumeDr. Hu is a doctoral supervisor, who got his Ph.D. from the Department of Geotechnical Engineering Tongji University majoring in underground structure. He was the visiting scholar of Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University between January 2014 and January 2015. He is the vice-president of School of Civil Engineering Chang’an University and the director of Institute of Underground Structure and Engineering. He has been members of CCES, Associated Research Centers for the Urban Underground Space (ACUUS), CSRME and EGC and been Reviewers for several Chinese and international journals, such as ‘international Journal of Geomechanics’, ‘Engineering Geology’ and ‘Rock and Soil Mechanics’. He has been leader for more than 20 research projects including the projects supported by the National Natural Science Foundation of China (NSFC), Xi’an metro and Shanghai metro. He has published more than 40 papers and more than 20 of them been cited by SCI, EI and ISTP. He mainly engages in the teaching and researching of geotechnical and underground structure engineering. He also lectures on ‘Soil Mechanics and Foundation Engineering’ and ‘Engineering Geology’ for undergraduate student, and 'Progress of Urban Underground Space Development', ‘Advanced Soil Mechanics’ and ‘Soft soil foundation and deep foundation pit support’ for graduate student. Forthermore, he was selected to be the first batch of outstanding youth science and technology talent training program in 2013 and awarded the outstanding young scientific and technological talent of the ministry of land and resources in 2017. The basic theory, optimal design and prevention and reduction of disasters of geotechnical and underground structure in complex conditions are the their main work. The main contents of their work as follow: 1. Development and utilization of urban underground space; 2. The effects of the construction process of underground structure on the surrounding geotechnical environment; 3. The disaster-causing mechanism and control technology of underground structure in complex geological environment; 4. Optimum design of deep foundation pit and side slope support structure; 5. Dynamic analysis of geotechnical and underground structure.
