ResumeChao Gao, PhD Lecturer, Department of Public Administration School of Humanities, Chang'an University Social positionResearchDr. Chao Gao is a lecturer in the Department of Public Administration at the School of Humanities, Chang'an University, where he has been working since June 2024. He received his Ph.D. in Engineering from Chang'an University in a joint training program with the Technical University of Munich (TUM), Germany. His research interests include: 1. Urban Renewal & Spatial Governance - Utilizing data-driven methods to study urban spatial structure optimization - Analyzing the impact of land use patterns on urban functions and livability - Exploring the application of smart city technologies in spatial governance 2. Environmental Perception & Behavioral Studies - Investigating the influence of built environments on residents' behavior and quality of life - Analyzing the role of public space design in social interaction and community cohesion - Exploring the impact mechanisms of environmental factors on residents' travel choices 3. Transportation Planning & Management - Researching the relationship between public transportation system optimization and residents' travel behavior - Analyzing the impact of transportation infrastructure investment on urban development - Investigating the changes in urban transportation patterns brought about by emerging travel modes (e.g., bike-sharing, ride-hailing) Dr. Gao adopts an interdisciplinary approach in his research, combining techniques such as Geographic Information Systems (GIS), big data analytics, and behavioral science. He is committed to enhancing urban quality of life and promoting sustainable development. To date, he has published over 10 academic papers, 11 of which are indexed by SCI and SSCI. He has also delivered one keynote speech at an international academic conference. In addition, he has been granted 3 invention patents, 3 utility model patents, and holds 2 software copyrights. Dr. Gao serves as a reviewer for several domestic and international journals, including Land, IEEE Access, Future Transportation, and Journal of Chang'an University (Natural Science Edition).
