Resume

Dr. Shi Dong, a native of Liaoning Province, is a member of the Communist Party of China, a doctor of engineering, a postdoctoral researcher at Tongji University, and a visiting scholar at the University of Waterloo, Canada. He is currently an associate professor at Chang'an University, a mentor for graduate students, the deputy director of the Institute of Big Data and Artificial Intelligence for Transportation, the deputy director of the Engineering Research Center for Digitalization of Transportation Infrastructure Construction and Management in Shaanxi Province, and a member of the Chang'an Scholar talent support program (young academic backbone category).

Mainly engaged in research in the field of intelligent maintenance and maintenance of transportation infrastructure, research directions include: 1) intelligent perception and information fusion of road traffic; 2) long-term performance prediction and maintenance decision-making of pavement; 3) mechanism and intelligent maintenance of vehicle-road coupling; 4) digitalization of transportation infrastructure (BIM) for maintenance stage.

So far, he has published over 50 academic papers (first/corresponding author of 21 papers, 35 SCI papers, over 1,000 citations), selected 2 items into the major scientific and technological achievements database of the Ministry of Transport, presented a WTC recommended paper, including: publishing multiple academic papers in top/JCR one-class international journals such as Computer-Aided Civil and Infrastructure Engineering, Journal of Cleaner Production, Construction and Building Materials, and IEEE Transactions on Intelligent Transportation Systems as the first/corresponding author. Given more than 10 special reports at international high-level academic conferences. Have accumulated 11 patents for invention and 8 patents for utility model. Awarded the Excellent Doctoral Dissertation Award of the China Highway Society, the Special First Prize of Science and Technology Progress of China Highway Construction Association, the First Prize of Science and Technology of the China Highway Society, the First Prize of Science and Technology Progress of Henan Provincial Department of Transport, and the First Prize of Science and Technology Progress of Henan Provincial Department of Transport. He has led one General Program of the National Natural Science Foundation of China (NSFC), one Youth Program of the NSFC, two Special Topics of the National Key Research and Development Program, one Special Topic of the NSFC-Joint Fund for Major Projects, one Key Research and Development Project of Shaanxi Province, one Natural Science Basic Research Plan of Shaanxi Province, one General Program of the China Postdoctoral Science Foundation, one Open Fund of Key Laboratory of the Transportation Industry, two provincial-level vertical projects, two central university-funded projects, and provided technical services for three enterprise projects. Additionally, he has participated in one National Key Research and Development Program, one Sub-project of the National Major Scientific Instrument and Equipment Development Special Fund, one research project funded by the Ontario Ministry of Transportation, Canada, and one Major Science and Technology Special Project of Henan Province. He is currently a core member of the Shaanxi Provincial Science and Technology Innovation Teams “Innovation Team for Pavement Durability Improvement and Precision Maintenance” and “Innovation Team for Digitalization of Highway Infrastructure and Intelligent Disaster Control.” Additionally, he is a core member of the Shaanxi Qin Chuang Yuan “Scientists + Engineers” Team.

He has mentored over 10 graduate students. Under his guidance, students have won 4 national awards and 20 provincial or ministerial-level awards in academic competitions. He has received 2 awards for outstanding mentorship. Students he has guided have won the First Prize in the National Huawei Cup Chinese Graduate Mathematical Modeling Competition, the First Prize in the National College Student Big Data Analysis and Mining Competition, the Special Prize at the Annual Final of China Big Data Modeling, and the Silver Award in the Shaanxi Regional Finals of the Internet+ College Student Innovation and Entrepreneurship Competition.


Social position

He serves as a member of the Technical Committee of the World Transport Convention (WTC), a member of the American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE), and a member of the Technical Committee of the Research and Development Center for IoT Technology Applications in Transportation.
