Resume

Yong Fang received his BEng, MEng, and PhD degrees from the School of Telecommunications Engineering, Xidian University, Xi’an, China, in 2000, 2003, and 2005, respectively. Then he was a lecturer/postdoc-fellow for one year in the School of Electronics&Information Engineering, Northwestern Polytechnic University, Xi’an, China. From 2007 to 2008, he joined the Department of Electrical&Computer Engineering, Hanyang University, Seoul, Korea, as a research professor. From 2009 to 2016, he was a full professor with the College of Information Engineering, Northwest A&F University, Yangling, Shaanxi, China. Since 2017, he is a full professor with the School of Information Engineering, Chang'an University, Xian, Shaanxi, China. His research interests include coding technique and theory, deep learning, compressive sensing, intelligent transportation systems, image/video coding, processing, and transmission, etc. He had a long experience in hardware development, e.g. FPGA-based (Xilinx Vertex series) video codec design, DSP-based (TI C64 series) video surveillance system, etc.
