Feng Jianhu is a professor of Computational Mathematics at the School of Science, Chang'an University, and a doctoral supervisor. He once served as the dean of the School of Science at Chang'an University, the vice president of the Shaanxi Society of Industrial and Applied Mathematics, the executive director of the Shaanxi Mathematical Society, and the vice president of the Shaanxi Society of Computational Mathematics.
Currently, he is an expert in the evaluation of the National Natural Science Award, an expert in the review of the National Natural Science Foundation of China, an expert in the review of national video open courses, an expert in the review of master's theses of the Degree Thesis Center of the Ministry of Education, a national expert in the evaluation of undergraduate education and teaching in general higher education institutions, an expert in the review of Shaanxi Provincial Science and Technology Awards, etc.
From September 1979 to July 1983, he studied in the Department of Mathematics, Northwest University, majoring in computational mathematics, and obtained a Bachelor of Science degree. In April 1988, he obtained a Master degree of Applied Mathematics from Northwestern Polytechnical University (NPU), and in December 1995, he obtained a Doctor Degree of Aeroengnne from NPU.
From July 1983 to April 2003, he worked at the Department of Applied Mathematics, NPU, successively serving as a teaching-assistant, a lecturer, an associate professor, and a professor. Since April 2003, he has been a professor at the School of Science, Chang'an University.
In November 1999, he made a short-term academic visit (three months) to the Faculty of Mathematical Sciences, University of Twente, the Netherlands. In the summer of 2004, he went to Canada for three weeks to study educational administration. In the autumn of 2009, he studied educational administration for three months at the National Academy of Educational Administration (the 32nd Middle-aged and Young Cadres Training Class).
From November 1993 to October 1997, he served as the vice dean of Department of Mathematics, NPU. From April 2000 to April 2003, he served as the secretary of the Party General Branch of Department of Mathematics, NPU.
He has long been engaged in teaching and research in computational mathematics, applied mathematics, computational fluid dynamics, and computational structural mechanics. He has achieved good results in numerical solutions of partial differential equations, computational fluid dynamics, and topology optimization of continuum structures. He has presided over and participated in a number of research projects, including the National Natural Science Foundation of China, the Natural Science Foundation of Shaanxi Province, and aerospace model research projects. With a solid mathematical foundation and rich computational experience, he has published more than 140 academic papers in domestic and international academic journals or at domestic and international conferences. He has won one first prize for Science and Technology Achievements in Higher Education Institutions in Shaanxi Province and one second prize of the Shaanxi Provincial Science and Technology Award.
He has long been engaged in teaching multiple courses for both graduate and undergraduate students, achieving excellent teaching results. He has won the university-level teaching excellence awards and outstanding teaching achievement awards at NPU many times. He was once named "the Most Satisfied Teacher in Undergraduate Teaching at NPU" and won the "Baosteel Education Fund Outstanding Teacher Award" in 2002. He has published nine textbooks and teaching aids books with Science Press and other publishers. He won the second prize for Outstanding Teaching Achievements in Shaanxi Province in 1999, 2003, and 2018 respectively. In 2008, he was awarded the title of "Model Teacher in Ethics in Shaanxi Province". In 2010, he was named "Teaching Master of Chang'an University". In 2022, he was named "Outstanding Graduate Supervisor of Chang'an University", etc.
