He is an associate professor in the field of geotechnical and tunnel engineering,at the School of Highway, Chang'an University. He got his Bachelor and master degrees of Science in the field of geology, at NorthwestUniversity in 1992 and 1995, respectively. After he got his Doctor degree of Science in the field of geochemistry, at the Institute of Geochemistry, (Chinese Academy of Science, CAS) in 1998, he got his teaching position at Chang'an university.Since then, he works at the School of Highway. During the period of 2005-2006, he worked at the Swedish Geotechnical Institute as a visting scholar.

He is test and design engineer in the field of bridge and tunnel engineering.

His research field includes the evaluation of engineering geological conditions, the inspection and test of concrete structures, the quality control of tunnel construction procedure, the assessment of operational tunnel conditions, design of tunnel structures and operational facilities.

He is responsible for the coures of the tunnel engineering for undergraduate students,and the test and instrumentation in tunnel engineering for master students.

He has been responsible for the research projects related to: (1)cracking control of the secondary lining concrete in construction; (2)assessment of the tunnel conditions; (3)measures of improveing tunnel conditions.  

He was conferred excellent tutor twice for his instructing graduation projects at Chang’an University.

From 1998, he works as a teacher in the field of geotechnical and tunnel engineering,at the School of Highway, Chang'an University. During the period of 2005-2006,he worked at the Swedish Geotechnical Institute as a visting scholar.
