Technological Achievements1. By systematically studying the geological and geochemical characteristics of ophiolite mélange in the West Junggar, an intra-ocean subduction + mantle plume model was proposed; 2. Revealed the widespread development of seamounts/plateaus during the evolution of the Paleo-Asian Ocean and Tethys oceans, and preliminary demonstrated the subduction and accretion effects of seamounts/plateaus; 3. Proposed a tentative model that involves asymmetric roll-back in response to seamounts subduction and accretion, followed by bending associated with the convergence of the Siberian and Tarim cratons; 4. Determined the properties of Silurian and Carboniferous volcanic rocks in the northern part of Western Junggar and demonstrated that the Boshchekul–Chingiz volcanic arc extends eastward from Kazakhstan to the northern part of western Junggar; 5. Explored the genesis of the granites in Kalamaili, East Junggar, demonstrated the nature of its source area, and revealed the contribution of mantle-derived magma in the growth process of the continental crust.
